FRANKENSTEIN'S MONSTER HAUNTS CAYCE, SOUTH CAROLINA IN 2009!
WELCOME TO OUR NEW WEBSITE FOR OUR LATEST HALLOWEEN SPECTACULAR LIVE EXPERIENCE!
This October of 2009, High Voltage Theatre is teaming up with the River Alliance and the City of Cayce, South Carolina to bring to the public a live, epic production of Mary Shelley's classic novel, FRANKENSTEIN!
Under the direction of Christopher Cook, progenitor of High Voltage's celebrated annual production of THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW, this brand new imagining of Shelley's monster tale will debut at the recently-constructed Cayce Riverland Outdoor Theater.
The facility is located at the historical "locks" wall of the Congaree River in Cayce. The area is now "river-accessible" thanks to the riverwalk extension project. The "theater" is not an outdoor amphitheatre in the traditional sense. It is an experimental space designed to facilitate public cultural activities of all kinds. The theater boasts a stone-paved performance-area creating a spacious stage and a gently graduating hillside for estimated audience seating of 200 to 250.
Having pioneered plein-aire Halloween epic theatre in the Midlands, High Voltage Theatre, a professional ensemble, now brings to life one of the most well-known masterpieces of classic horror, FRANKENSTEIN!
A large-scale prodcution featuring a visual feast of spectacle and grandeur, this event is sure to break the bonds of conventional theatre and hold you in the grasp of heart-pounding suspense.
This production of FRANKENSTEIN is more than a live play, it is an interactive experience! On performance evenings, audiences will arrive at the Cayce Community Center, and take advantage of ample parking space. Then a stroll through the dark and mysterious "Haunted Woods of Ingoldstadt" will lead brave souls to the theater.
Audiences will marvel at: explosive special effects, exquisitely-hewn costumes of late 1700s Geneva, thrilling sword-play, and a spectacular desplay of monster make-up artistry.
Cayce's presentation of Mary Shelley's FRANKENSTEIN promises to be the most exciting and extravagant offering in the Midlands this Halloween season!
